Designing Spaces That Feel Like Home

Hi, I’m Lorraine — a Canberra-based interior designer and founder of LN Interiors.

I help everyday homeowners create spaces that feel warm, inviting and uniquely personal. Whether you're planning a home renovation, need help with kitchen or bathroom updates, or just want guidance on colour consulting and furniture selections, I’m here to make the design process simple, enjoyable and stress-free.

With years of experience working on residential interiors - both locally and overseas - I bring a practical, down-to-earth approach to design.

My style blends timeless, classic interiors with a modern edge, always tailored to your lifestyle and how you live in your home. I studied interior design at the Canberra Institute of Technology, and I believe great design isn't about following trends - it’s about creating a space that feels just right for you.

At LN Interiors, I offer a range of interior decorating services in Canberra, from single room makeovers to renovations. Whether you're starting fresh, reworking existing layouts, or simply need help pulling everything together, I’ll help you make confident design decisions that reflect your personality and suit your current stage of life.

I love mixing meaningful, existing pieces with new finds - creating interiors that feel layered, relaxed and considered.

Outside of design, I’m a wife and mum of three. I enjoy renovating our own home, pottering in the garden, doing Pilates and spending time with family and friends.

If you’re looking for a Canberra interior designer who can help you create a home that feels beautiful, functional and truly yours - I’d love to work with you.

 FAQs

  • It really depends on the scope of the project and the level of help you need. Some clients looking for an interior designer in Canberra just want advice to get started, while others are after full design support from concept to completion. I offer different service packages to suit various budgets, and I like to be transparent about pricing so there are no surprises. If you're not sure what's right for you, let's have a chat and go from there.

  • An interior designer looks at both the function and feel of a space. That can include layout changes, lighting plans, finishes, and furniture, often working alongside builders or architects. A decorator focuses more on the look and feel of a space, choosing colours, furniture, fabrics and styling pieces. I offer a mix of both. Whether you're renovating or updating a room, I can help with everything from layout to final touches.

  • It depends on the style and condition of your existing furniture. The aim is to present your home in Canberra (or in the surrounding regions and coast) in the best possible light to potential buyers. I can help by working with what you already have and rearranging furniture for better flow and by adding a few key décor pieces to enhance the overall look and feel of your space. Sometimes, a few updates can make a big difference without the need for full property styling.

  • Working with an interior designer can save you time, money and a lot of second-guessing. I help bring your ideas together into a clear plan, so you're not wasting money on things that don't work. I also have access to trade-only suppliers and trusted local makers, which means more choice and often better value than what you'll find in the shops.

  • It really depends on the scope of your project. Smaller interior styling jobs in Canberra might take a few weeks, while full renovations can take several months. Timelines also depend on how quickly decisions are made and how long items take to arrive. I'll always keep things moving and be upfront about timing, so you know what to expect.

  • Definitely. Small spaces can absolutely work – it just comes down to being intentional with what you choose and how it's laid out. The right furniture, storage and layout can make a small space feel functional and inviting, not cramped. I'll help you make the most of what you've got, so it feels well thought-out and easy to live in.

  • Home styling is about making your space feel warm, cohesive and lived in, without starting from scratch. I work with you one room at a time, using what you already have and adding a few pieces to bring everything together. That could mean reworking the layout, hanging art, sourcing soft furnishings (cushions, throws, etc.) or bringing in accessories that add personality and polish.

Every home (and budget) is different, so the styling is tailored to suit your lifestyle and how you live. Some clients want help finishing off a space, others need a fresh pair of eyes and a few simple touches. Either way, the goal is to create a home that feels calm, considered and functional.

  • Look for someone whose style and approach feels like a good fit for you. It's a good idea to check out their past projects, client reviews, and Instagram to get a sense of their style and how they work. It's also worth chatting with a few designers to see how well they listen, communicate and whether they understand what you're trying to achieve.

I offer a free 15 minute discovery call so we can talk through your ideas, answer any questions and see if we're the right fit.

  • My primary focus is residential design, but I'm open to select commercial projects in Canberra and surrounds like office spaces, especially where a warm, welcoming feel is essential.

If you have a project in mind, feel free to get in touch, and we can chat about whether it's the right fit.

  • Absolutely. One of the best parts of my job is mixing treasured pieces with new finds to create a space that feels personal and layered. Having items around you that hold meaning makes your home feel less like a showroom and more like a home. I'll take measurements and work them into the design so everything sits comfortably together.

It's about making the old and new work in a way that feels balanced and cohesive.
