Merimbula Coastal Deck Refresh

This back deck at my client’s Merimbula holiday home was looking tired and wasn’t working well for how the space was being used. The aim was to refresh the area and create a comfortable, relaxing outdoor zone suitable for both family holidays and Airbnb guests.

The design brief focused on comfort, freshness and a tranquil coastal feel. A warm palette of terracotta, rattan and timber tones was introduced to soften the space and connect it to its beautiful bushland surroundings. The existing pendants were replaced with rattan lighting, instantly lifting the space and creating a lighter, more relaxed atmosphere.

Where possible, existing pieces were reused. The outdoor daybed was updated with new foam and outdoor fabric, with piped cushions and matching bolsters added for comfort.
